Goji Juice Components and Benefits

This happened during the Tang Dynasty (about 800 AD). There was a well near one of the Buddhist temples. A gorgeous goji bush grew so close to the well that its multiple tiny berries fell right into the water, which, with the lapse of time turned into the sweet juice. People, who prayed in the temple, used to drink from the well. Years passed by, but those people did not grow older: neither their appearance, nor their health showed traces of age. They suggested that it was due to the miraculous waters with goji berries from the well. Decades and centuries of taking goji juice by the Himalayans confirmed the suggestion. Now that goji juice becomes familiar to the whole world, we can check whether there is truth in this legend on our own bodies and health.

Furthermore, it is possible to ask modern scientists for advice, since they continuously work on discovering and understanding goji power. Some of them positively claim that juice, made of either fresh or dried goji berries, is the most useful and nutritionally rich substance on Earth. It contains more vitally important elements than any other known fruit, vegetable or plant.

Goji contains 18 kinds of amino acids, including 8 essential amino acids (e.g. isoleucine and tryptophan) and 21 trace minerals (zinc, iron, copper, calcium, germanium – unheard of in any fruit, selenium, phosphorus, etc.). These components make human immune system much stronger, doubling the production of infection-fighting proteins.

Germanium or vitamin O works in the human bodies eliminating toxic substances (heavy metals and free radicals), which are associated with aging and appearing of chronic diseases. It can also be used for treating arthritis, atherosclerosis, and liver problems associated with oxidation and chemotherapy (selenium can also be of great help in this case).

Goji has a complete range of antioxidant carotenoids, including beta-carotene (more than in carrots), tetraterpenoids (zeaxanthin, which protects eyes, and physalin, very helpful in fighting all kinds of cancers and hepatitis B), and sesquiterpenoids (cyperone, which regulates blood pressure and is used in the treatment of cervical cancer, and solavetivone – anti-fungal and anti-bacterial compound). Furthermore, these berries contain vitamin E and are stuffed with vitamin C.

Vitamins B1, B2, and B6, available in the fruits, help the body convert food into energy.

Beta-sisterol (an anti-inflammatory agent) is also a component of goji juice. It is used to treat prostate enlargement, sexual impotence, and to lower cholesterol levels.

Goji contains linoleic acid (a fatty acid, required for the body’s production of hormones and the smooth functioning of the brain and nervous system). It helps decrease body fat and increase muscle body mass instead. Due to this acid organism gains healthy inflammation response, too.

Betaine, another compound of goji, helps liver produce chlorine, which is effective in calming nervousness, improving memory, promoting muscle growth, and protecting against liver diseases.

Finally, goji berries and juice are so valuable for the great amounts of polysaccharides (complex carbohydrates, bound to proteins), which fortify the immune system and improve the activity of the pituitary gland, making it produce more human growth hormone to renew and repair muscle and skin cells. Moreover, goji contains 4 polysaccharides known as „Master Molecules”, which are unique to this herb only and are not found in any other plant on earth. They are named LBP1, LBP2, LBP3, and LBP4. Scientists deeply believe that these components are vitally important for the human body as they can affect and improve the functioning of all body systems, producing amazing health benefits.

To sum it all up, goji seems to be an endless source of elements for curing almost all known diseases: skin, cardiovascular, nervous disorders and many others.

Though it took pretty much time to read all this information, which is not that easy as well, now you can positively claim that you know everything about goji juice and even more…
